Operation Dawn Thailand
Along with the mission of “Sending Love to N. Thailand” organized
in 1983 by Christian Cosmic Light Holistic Care Organization,
its general secretary then, professor Chi-ping Lin invited Operation
Dawn Hong Kong
to join them by sending representatives going to N. Thailand with this
mission,
so Rev. John Paul Chan sent Rev. Simon Man-wo Lau and another brother
going along.
Seeing drug abuse was so prevalent in that area that even a household
with three generations lying
under the eaves took drugs together, Rev. Lau was stirred up to preach
to locals. In January 1984,
Ban Lo Fu Drug Rehab Center in N. Thailand was set up which later
in 1993 was transferred to be under the supervision of Operation Dawn
Taiwan.

So far, there are 7
work stations in Thailand.
Except the Administration Office that is in Bangkok, the other 6 work
stations are in N.
Thailand: Ban Lo Fu Drug Rehab Center, Ban Hin Taek Drug Rehab Center,
Women Drug Rehab Center, Children’s Home, Disciple Training Center, and
Youth Center.

Operation Dawn United States
In 1981, Partners International sent Operation Dawn to preach
abroad. At that time, Mrs. Esther S.M. Fan, a pastor’s wife,
constantly took foreign friends visiting Operation Dawn Hong Kong,
showing their concern for inmates who were going through drug rehab.
In 1989, Mrs. Fan was sent to United States by Partners
International to minister to the Chinese there. Under the assistance
of Mrs. Fan, Rev. Lau went to United States every year to share
experiences of working at Operation Dawn, introducing the vision of
Operation Dawn to Chinese churches in N. America, which moved a lot
of brothers and sisters there.
Meanwhile, the sights of many drug addicts in N. America who needed
drug rehab and of some of them just coming to Taiwan for drug rehab
inspired a Christian Spiritual Therapy Center in N. America to be
set up for the Chinese there.

In
June 2004, Rev. Lau sent Preacher Hung-chi Yao, his wife Shu-mei Tu
Yao, and their daughter Esther to San Jose, United States,
initiating the ministry of Operation Dawn United States.
Operation Dawn Canada

In
April 2004, Rev. Lau took a one-month trip to Canada to share the
experiences of working at Operation Dawn. He took brother Henry
Wong, an overseas Chinese in Canada,
who was going through the drug rehab at Operation Dawn Taiwan and
stayed in a stable condition, along with him to give testimonies.
When they were giving a testimony in Toronto, a couple took their
son who was suffering from drug addiction and under governmental
surveillance, and his friend to Rev. Lau, pleading Rev. Lau to help
them quit drug use. Rev. Lau immediately asked both of them to
follow him round the clock every day, starting drug rehab instantly
by reading the Bible and praying daily. At the same time, a sister
who loved the Lord was willing to offer the basement of her house as
a temporary dwelling place for the four to stay in. In August 2004,
Operation Dawn Taiwan sent Mr. Timothy Chang to Canada, commencing
the ministry of Operation Dawn Canada. In late 2004, a Christian
couple lent their house for the rehab use.
Operation Dawn India

In 1997, Boshi, son of a tribal leader in
Nagaland, NE India, after getting rid of drugs in Operation Dawn
Hong Kong went back to Kohima to start a rehab center.
In 2002, Adu, a local preacher and Boshi’s friend, started another
center at Chozuba. |
